Laboratory Facilities
There is a well-established wet lab facility for Aster Research Foundation with a floor area of 5000sq. ft. located in the academic block of Dr. Moopen’s Medical College.
Cell Culture Facility
There is a well-equipped Cell Culture Laboratory with basic facilities for supporting primary cultures and cell line cultures for stem cell research, anti-cancer studies and toxicology / biocompatibility studies.
Biomaterials Lab
A key facility for the development of biomaterials, particularly biopolymers, polymer composites and hydrogels. Design and development of novel biomaterials and membrane synthesis are among the primary activities.
Small Animal Facility
The facility is registered with the Committee for Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals, Govt. of India. The facility can house and conduct experiments on small animals to support preclinical studies.
Molecular Biology Lab
It has all basic facilities for RNA & DNA extraction, amplification, gene modifications, cloning, and gene expression studies.
Biochemistry / Proteomic Lab
For protein isolation, expression studies, antibody extraction and isolation, DNA, RNA, Protein and Enzymatic analysis.
Immunohistochemistry Lab
Cryo-sectioning & tissue processing, microscopic imaging to study the pathology and localization & distribution of various receptors & associated proteins.
Plant Bioactives and Bioprocessing Lab
For research on apoptotic induction, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic properties of plants used in traditional as well as tribal medicine.
